Milan never
ceases to amaze!
It’s not just about fashion and pasta here — we’ve got the football deal of the century: the city has sold San Siro to AC Milan and Inter.
💶 Price tag: almost €197 million. But hey, this is Italy, so of course they won’t pay it all at once: first €73 million upfront, the rest in installments (like a coffee subscription with your favorite barista).

🏛️ The city will also chip in up to €22 million for repairs and infrastructure (but the big demolition bill stays with the clubs).
⚽️ Deal highlights:
  • if corruption or legal troubles pop up — the clubs can hand the stadium back to the city (think of it as a “30-day return policy, no questions asked”);
  • if they resell the stadium within 5 years — part of the profit goes back to the city (a Milanese-style cashback);
  • about 50,000 m² of green space remains city property, and the clubs must maintain it for 30 years (yes, Inter and Milan are now also gardeners 🌳).

🏟️ A brand-new stadium by Foster + Partners is promised by 2031. The old San Siro will be partly demolished but with symbolic pieces preserved — like a museum for the fans.

🎭 There are hardly any examples in the world where two top clubs share a stadium and then go on to buy it together.

Milan is truly unique. Italy is a country where football is always a mix of business, drama, and comedy ✨
